The Journal of Pan African Studies

On the cover: Roberta "Bobbi" Sykes (1943-2010), poet, author, activist for the rights of the original people of Australia, and the first Australian of African descent to graduate from a U.S. university (she earned a Ph.D. in Education from Harvard University in 1983). In 1994 her activism was recognized when she was awarded the Australian Human Rights Medal, the pinnacle of human rights recognition in Australia.
